Elisabeth Hasselbeck made an emotional return to “Fox & Friends” on Friday, revealing the medical emergency that kept her away from the morning show for a month.
At the outset of the show, Hasselbeck told viewers that she “had a bit of a scare.”
“I had a tumor in my abdomen,” she explained. “Doctor said, ‘Look, you’ve got to get it out by the end of the month. We don’t like how it looks.’ I was facing something that potentially could have gone either way.”
Hasselbeck underwent surgery before enduring a “scary week” as she awaited the results. Ultimately, doctors determined that the tumor was not cancer.
The co-host grew emotional toward the end of the segment, thanking her colleagues — including Fox News chief Roger Ailes — for their support during her absence.
