The reporter who interviewed a man calling himself “John Miller” — who many believe was actually Donald Trump pretending to be his own PR spokesman — suggested Friday that Trump himself leaked the tape of their conversation, as she claims to have lost the recording years ago.

Sue Carswell, who spoke to “Miller” in the 1990s when she was working for People magazine, told Megyn Kelly Friday evening that, “The main thing here is that I didn’t leak the tape, and there are two people on the conversation.”

She said she lost the recording, perhaps when moving apartments. Asked by Kelly who else could have provided the tape to the Washington Post, which published it Friday, Carswell said “Donald Trump.”

“He’s done stranger things,” she later added.

Rumors that Trump years ago pretended to be his publicist to talk to the press existed long before Friday’s Washington Post report, and were seemingly confirmed by Trump in a 1990 court testimony.

Trump is now denying that he once pretended to be his own spokesman, and even hung up on Washington Post reporters 44 minutes into an interview when they asked him about it Friday.
