Democrats in Indiana are up with a radio spot attacking Republican Senate nominee Richard Mourdock, comparing Mourdock’s refusal to compromise to the mentality of a schoolyard bully.

“We all know ‘my way or the highway’ is the way certain folks work,” says the ad’s narrator. “Like schoolyard bullies, for instance.”

“Hey kid, gimme your lunch. Or else,” a child’s voice says menacingly.

The narrator returns, saying this is the wrong attitude for Indiana politicians, and attacks Mourdock for taking this view of politics. The narrator quotes Mourdock, saying “Mourdock’s even said, quote, ‘The highlight of politics, frankly, is to inflict my opinion on someone else.'”

The ad buy is $20,000 on statewide radio, according to a source that tracks ad buys, and began running Sunday. Mourdock defeated incumbent Sen. Richard Lugar in Indiana’s Republican primary earlier this month and is facing Democratic Rep. Joe Donnelly in the general election.
