U.S. Rep. Connie Mack is up with his first radio ad in his run for the GOP Senate nomination on the issue of the Keystone pipeline, reports the Miami Herald. The ad pushes Mack’s petition to “force Washington to build the Keystone pipeline” and attacking President Obama and Sen. Bill Nelson for being “afraid of the political clout of a few left-wing environmental extremists.” The ad directs listeners to his campaign website to sign the petition, which he first mentioned earlier this month.
From the Herald:
Mack, a Fort Myers Republican, made [Keystone] a campaign issue earlier this month when he launched a petition drive at a Miami gas station, where the station owner was the only guy who signed the document and didn’t think it would do too much. But something’s better than nothing, he said.
The ad is running statewide.
