Republican challenger Cory Gardner is maintaining a steady lead over Sen. Mark Udall (D-CO), according to a new CNN/ORC poill.
Gardner leads Udall, 50 percent to 46 percent, among likely voters, the survey released Wednesday found. It was CNN/ORC’s first foray into the race, but other recent polls have found a similar margin. Polls from Survey USA and Fox News last week showed Gardner up four points and six points, respectively.
According to TPM’s PollTracker average, Gardner currently holds a 5.2-point advantage.
The CNN/ORC poll, conducted Oct. 9 to 13, surveyed 665 likely voters. Its margin of error is 4 points.
As said in the other article, don’t put much stock in these polls. This will be about turnout. If Udall can get Presidential cycle turnout or close to it, he will win this. Angle and Buck were ahead of Reid and Bennet in 2012 in just about every poll and they both lost! This is far from over.
I think like this too, then I think: “Yeah, that’s what Romney’s supporters thought, too.” But here’s hoping.
Electing a Senator who doesn’t believe climate change is real. In Colorado, for fuck sake.
There are days when I think this country is simply too stupid to survive. We’re about to put the entire legislative branch of the federal government in the hands of a party that thinks climate change is a hoax, thinks the minimum wage should be eliminated, thinks we need another ground war in the Middle East, equates women who take birth control with being sluts, that wants to repeal the ACA and take insurance away from 30 million Americans, wants to keep drilling and turning our atmosphere into a sewer, has zero interest in any programs promoting jobs and infrastructure, and thinks all Americans should carry loaded guns 24/7.
The GOP has pissed on the middle class of this country my entire life, and it appears more people are enjoying it than ever.
More specifically, Democrats are very fickle voters, far more so than their Republican counterparts. They need a ton of prodding to show up at the polls under the best of circumstances. In years like this, when they are not happy with their party, they feel it isn’t worth the time and effort to cast a ballot.
LF, if the entire voting age population was participating in the electoral process and we had the same results, I’d be equally dismayed.
But, I am angry because 50-60% of that first group are sitting out this election because of ignorance, indifference or all of the above.
Remember that old adage, Americans deserve the government they get.
