Chuck Todd’s grim political prognosis on Wednesday for President Obama gave some quality fodder to the conservative Drudge Report, but the NBC White House correspondent insisted he was simply providing the facts.
After Todd said that the latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll showed that the public believes Obama’s “presidency is over,” the Drudge Report splashed this headline on the front page of his heavily trafficked website:

Todd promptly responded with a pair of tweets aimed at Drudge, arguing that he was simply reporting and analyzing on what was a pretty grim poll for Obama.
Despite what folks want to believe I said Here is fact: based on Q we asked about rest of term, maj said POTUS can’t lead and get job done

Unlike some in blogosphere, I don’t insert my opinions either way. So there is no “turning”. I simply report and analyze.

Based on a NBC/WSJ poll, you opine that Obama is over?
Isn’t that a bit hyperbolic and silly, Chuck?
Clearly Chuck Todd is just reporting on perceptions he himself helps shape, aka ‘facts.’ Report, analyze, repeat. What is it with some people? Does Chuck Todd have to report and analyze the facts about what some people perceive to be his reporting and analysis of what other facts could potentially mean based on his analysis of other reporting on the analysis of reporting of people’s analysis of his previous reporting? Besides, it’s not his job!
And Chuck Todd is thrilled THRILLED that Drudge mentioned him.
Chuck never turned on Obama as he was never on his side to begin with.
Analyze. IOW, give your opinion.
Sheesh.
