The U.S. Chamber of Commerce has announced a new wave of TV ads across the country, in 17 House districts and four Senate races. “The Chamber is engaging more aggressively than ever to educate the public about the leaders who stand up for free enterprise, and those who support big government policies,” said Chamber president and CEO Thomas J. Donohue in a press release.
On the Senate races, there are negative ads targeting Sens. Bill Nelson (D-FL), Claire McCaskill (D-MO), Sherrod Brown (D-OH), plus a positive spot for a Senate candidate, former Gov. Linda Lingle (R-HI).
On House races, the Chamber has positive ads running on behalf of incumbent Reps. Bobby Schilling (R-IL), Dan Benishek (R-MI), Fred Upton (R-MI), Chip Cravaack (R-MN), Ann Marie Buerkle (R-NY), Chris Gibson (R-NY), Nan Hayworth (R-NY), Bill Johnson (R-OH), and Rep. John Barrow (D-GA) — the sole Democrat in the wave of positive sports — plus House candidates Jason Plummer (R-IL), Randy Altschuler (R-NY) Brendan Doherty (R-RI). There are also negative ads against Reps. Kathy Hochul (D-NY), Louise Slaughter (D-NY), Bill Owens (D-NY), and House candidates Lois Frankel (D-FL) and former Rep. Alan Grayson (D-FL).
