Bob Menendez Video To Supporters: ‘I Know I’ve Done Nothing Wrong’

Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) speaks to supporters in a YouTube video a day after his indictment on federal corruption charges.

Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) shared a YouTube video with supporters Thursday, a day after being indicted on federal corruption charges.

“I won’t mince words. Today is a difficult day,” Menendez says in the video. “But it is far less difficult because I know I have done nothing wrong.”

Menendez went on to cite his history of fighting corruption in government and highlighted his support for Israel and tough sanctions against Iran. The senator had stepped down Wednesday from his post as the ranking Democrat on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

“You know that I fight for the issues we believe in and I fight for the people of New Jersey every single day,” he said in the video. “That’s just who I am and that’s just what I’ll continue to do.”
