Bloomberg News was dead silent Tuesday on the employment status of Jessica Pressler, the outgoing New York Magazine writer who fell for a phony story about a teen stock whiz.

Pressler had been slated to join Bloomberg as a reporter on the company’s projects and investigations team early next year.

But when asked whether the bungled story had jeopardized Pressler’s hiring, Bloomberg spokesman told media blogger Jim Romenesko and the Huffington Post’s Michael Calderone that the company was declining to comment on the matter.

Bloomberg spokesman Ty Trippet did not immediately respond to a request for comment from TPM.
