The Weekly Standard’s Bill Kristol is just throwing an idea out there: Republican Ed Gillespie could pull off “one heck of an upset on November 4.”
Kristol comes to this conclusion by looking at a Christopher Newport University poll showing Sen. Mark Warner (D-VA) up just 7 points, a shift from earlier in the month when he was leading the field by 12 points, and a poll from the Republican pollster Vox Populi showing Gillespie down by 4.
It’s what, some might say, a stretch. Republicans look poised to pick up Senate seats on Tuesday and very possibly control of the chamber but Warner’s seat has been a longshot for Republicans this cycle.
RealClearPolitics lists the Virginia race for U.S. Senate as the only Leans Democrat seat.
The TPM Polltracker also gives Warner a 7.7 point lead over the rest of the field.
Sure Bill, however no Dem in any neck and neck race with one of your stupid party members has a chance, right Bill. This guy sounds more insane all of the time.
The Kiss of Death… Thanks Bill.
And when Bill is wrong for the umpteenth time, the media will continue to grovel at his feet to have him appear on the Sunday talk shows as an “expert”.
It’d take a miracle, and I understand that Miracle Max has officially and completely retired.
This is the guy who convinced McCain to choose Caribou Barbie as a running mate.
So… right.
