A Camden County, N.J. detective accidentally shot himself in the leg while using the bathroom in his office, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported.
The detective was either seated or about to sit when the gun went off, Jason Laughlin, spokesman for the Camden County Prosecutor’s office, told the Inquirer. His gun was out of the holster at the time.
The detective, who works as part of the narcotics unit, underwent surgery at a local hospital.
“We’re reviewing the incident to make sure this doesn’t happen again,” Laughlin told the Courier-Post.
