A 4-year-old Campbellsville, Ky., girl was shot in the leg by one of her parents on Sunday, according to the Lexington Herald-Leader.

Police said that according to the initial investigation, the gun accidentally went off while one of the child’s parents was repairing the weapon.

The 4-year-old girl was taken to a local hospital for treatment, and then transferred to a children’s hospital.

Police are still investigating the incident and have not yet filed any charges against the child’s parents, according to Kentucky television station WKYT.

    You don’t “repair” loaded guns. I’m getting tired of parents getting away with child abuse and spouses getting away with murder under the guise of gun “accident.” It’s like trusting Boehner and McConnell - all of these people are from the same tribe, regardless of skin color.

  4. I think it’s time to start charging these parents with child endangerment and manslaughter each time there’s a preventable accident like this.

    I don’t own a gun (or have children) and yet all I can think is- bloody well empty the gun before you do anything to it!
