Through today we asked you to send photos of your trips to vote. And we simply got some wonderful pictures. I don’t really know how else to describe it. It really made my day. We have links to them all after the jump. Take a look. You’ll be glad you did. Read More
Just ducked out for a bit of fresh air and from our office four blocks from the White House could hear car horns blaring and see Obama supporters streaming down 16th Street. A spontaneous celebration. Mostly 20somethings. Some younger. Many older. People taking pictures. Spirits high. Raucous and happy revelers. The crowd was packed tight on Pennsylvania between Lafayette Park and the north gates of the White House itself. Someone waving a rainbow flag. A light police presence. TV trucks on the street. More people converging on the scene, after midnight. For the decidedly pro-Obama District, an outpouring of relief as much as celebration.
Romney gave an understated, classy concession speech. The crowd greeted it with a dignified response.
Tammy Baldwin’s win making her the first openly gay U.S. senator:
And I’m well aware that I will be the first openly gay member of the United States Senate. #Tammy2012 #WIsen

Reid calls on Republicans to drop obstruction strategy in wake of senate defeat.
My friend Josh Green just mentioned this on Twitter. It’s a critical point. Tonight, Tammy Baldwin, an out gay woman, was elected to the Senate. Gay marriage won. And a President who openly came out in favor of gay marriage (something hard to imagine even a few years ago) was reelected.
For LGBT rights, it’s a game changing election.
PollTracker correctly called 49 out of 50 state elections. The only miss was Florida. Final PollTracker Average had final number in Florida as Romney +1.2.
I really don’t know why they haven’t called Florida. It seems basically certain Obama won. He’s got a 60k+ margin.
