Remember, in that infamous crank call, when he thought he was talking to David Koch, Walker talked about using layoffs as a tool to pressure the unions and the Democrats to give in to his demands.
Don’t forget that House Democrats in Indiana are on the lam, too, in Illinois. Now the Republican majority in the Indiana House has moved to fine absent Dems $250 a day each.

Wisconsin state Rep. Nick Milroy (D), who was denied entry to the state Capitol last evening, has issued a statement about his scuffle with police. (Amusingly, the file name for the Word doc emailed by Milroy’s office is “Tackle Statement.”) Says Milroy, in trying to downplay the situation: “This armed-palace environment created by Gov. Walker has everyone feeling very tense and emotions are running high.”

You can see all the polls and Gov. Walker’s increasingly cartoonish appearances around the state. But this is probably as big a tell as anything. The Republican state assemblyman who is running to replace Walker in his former job of Milwaukee County Executive is now running away from his vote for Walker’s union-busting bill.
In our main editorial chat here at TPM I was just saying that with the new evidence of Gov. Walker going into the bunker-bound, ranting at his lackeys stage of this drama I figured that it could only be a few days before the first Gov. Walker “Hitler Downfall Parody Video” appeared on Youtube. And then one of our new staffers, Jon Terbush, says one already exists.
To me, the Walker story is so rich, I’m not sure this one quite met my full comedic expectations. I’d give it maybe a B in terms of the broader “Hitler Downfall Parody Video” genre, just because there’s so much to work with here that I think you’ve got to grade pretty strictly.
