Rep. Don Young (R-AK): I’m a Free Man

At TPMmuckraker we’ve been chronicling the scandals, legal woes and general problems with the DOJ of Rep. Don Young (R-AK) since at least 2007 and I think actually back to 2006 — the year Muckraker went online. But Young’s press secretary, Meredith Kenny, just told the Anchorage Daily News that the DOJ this morning contacted Young’s office and told him the investigation into him is over and no charges will be filed.

The Doctrine of Nullification was first significantly aired during the Nullification Crisis of 1832-33 and then (or so it was thought) finally settled by the Civil War (or, as some call it, the War Between Lincoln’s Tyranny and the Freedom-Loving South). But Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell (R) says he’s not yet ready to say whether or not he thinks Virginia can nullify federal laws within its jurisdiction.
