Not sure which is funnier. Some of the crazy things a lot of Tea Party/GOP senate candidates believe? Or fact that a lot of them are going to be elected.
House Dem running ads about how well he worked with President Bush.
The sheriff’s office in Pinal County, AZ, earlier today gave us a statement standing by its own investigation into the alleged shooting of one of its deputies, purportedly by Mexican drug smugglers, even after pathologists who reviewed the photos of the deputy found the circumstances consistent with a close-range shot at odds with the deputy’s account. But now, just a few hours later, the sheriff has reversed course and announced he’s reopening the investigation.
Considering how quickly the case became a cause celeb among anti-immigration types and a political flashpoint on the issue nationally, it’s really, really hard to imagine the results of his investigation having a lot of credibility. Remember, too, that the sheriff, Paul Babeu, has appeared in a campaign ad for John McCain, publicly stated that the U.S. government is now the enemy, and claimed that Mexican drug lords had taken over part of U.S. territory. But in any event, he’s reopened the case and is going to take another look. Stay tuned.
Wow, we’re watching a totally mind-blowing interview that Fox News’ Stuart Varney is holding practically yelling at some econ professor from Occidental. Gobsmackingest thing I’ve ever seen. Not even sure where to start. We’ll try to get the video.
I’m not even quite sure how to describe it other than it seemed out of the norm in terms of ranthood even by the copiously rantishous standards of Fox News.
It was bizarre, even by the standards of Fox News. Stuart Varney becomes a raging ape mauling a hapless zoo visitor arguing the immorality of the progressive income tax. When I saw it this afternoon I wasn’t even quite sure how to describe it. But it was really way out there even by the standards of Fox News. The whole interview went about seven minutes, but we’ve got the choicest bits here.
The word out tonight is that Rahm Emanuel is leaving the White House and his departure will likely happen this week. I know people have strong feelings on both sides about Rahm. But I must say I find it somehow unseemly and almost bizarre what a rapid departure he’s making.
Chief of Staff is usually considered a pinnacle job rather than a stepping stone. You do it until the president is done with you or you burn out, neither of which usually takes very long. And five weeks before an election? On very short notice? It just doesn’t seem right.
Colbert wasn’t the first stunt witness to testify before Congress.
We look at the top 5 wackiest congressional witnesses, including the guy to left there.
The Democratic Governors Association just sent out a fundraising email featuring former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle, and it’s just about the strongest language I’ve seen any Democrat short of Alan Grayson using this year: Read More
