Just Like The Other Senate Spouses

TPM Reader WB checks in with his take on the McMahons:

I have to agree with your Reader MM, the McMahons shouldn’t be let off the hook for what happens in their industry so easily because the performers are “independent contractors” and/or narcissists.

Here is a sample of Vince McMahon dealing with one of his “independent contractors,” a young man named Darren Drozdov who could vomit at will and McMahon was auditioning to be a featured performer in WWE as “Puke” from the documentary Beyond The Mat:

Mmm-Mmm, Jihad

Stick a spoon in it. American culture is dead for good. While loyal citizens were worrying about encroaching Sharia law, Campbell’s introduced a line of Halal soups.

All the usual suspects are weighing in on this American apocalypse, including the Tea Party Nation, which tweeted: “Campbell’s now making Muslim approved soups. Mmmmm Mmmmm not good. No more campbells for me.”

So Brazen

I know this is the Republican line and has been for a while now, but it’s still a cold splash of water in my face every time I encounter it.

Michael Steele’s statement on the unemployment numbers:

Seventeen consecutive months with higher than 9% unemployment represent the final verdict on the failed economic policies of this White House and the Democrat Congress as voters head to the polls. President Obama and his left wing allies on Capitol Hill have spent trillions of taxpayer dollars with nothing to show for it but a mountain of crippling debt and chronic joblessness. 95,000 more jobs lost provides further evidence that their agenda of more spending, higher taxes, and bigger government is only fueling more economic uncertainty and making it harder to put Americans back to work. After nearly two years of weak leadership and broken promises, the American people will go to the polls in less than a month and reject this Administration’s economic mismanagement.

You can either cry or just laugh.
