President Trump is the most successful, prominent promoter of anti-Semitism in American history. Certainly he is the only president who has ever compiled such a record.
I wanted to put together just a handful of examples of this. I ignored the voluminous examples of avowed anti-Semites promoting and supporting the President as their candidate. I’m not included accounts in books of anti-Semitic smears and comments from Trump. I’m also not including numerous statements about Jews in which he makes American Jews simply an extension of Israel, comments which feed into a long history of anti-Semitic discourse but are at least notionally framed as praising Jews and Israel. I’m referencing things he’s done publicly over the last three plus years. Just a few examples.
2/11/2016: Candidate Trump again retweets infamous @WhiteGenocideTM twitter account, which routinely posted anti-Semitic and racist comments.
2/28/2016: Trump refuses to denounce David Duke, says “I don’t know anything about David Duke.”
4/19/2016: Trump again retweets white supremacist anti-Semitic Twitter account.
7/2/2016: Trump tweets out anti-Semitic meme attacking Hillary Clinton with Star of David over a sea of dollars. White House later claims Star of David was a Sheriff’s badge. The meme originated on 8chan/pol, a Reddit-like message board known for neo-Nazis and anti-Semites.
12/5/2016: Trump closes 2016 campaign with ad rife with anti-Semitic imagery and allusions. ADL denounces ad’s use of images and rhetoric that anti-Semites have use for ages.”
1/27/2017: White House releases statement on Holocaust Remembrance Day which includes no mention of Jews.
8/1/2017: 1. Charlottesville neo-Nazis: Trump lauds “very fine people on both sides.”
