Cruz Fake Photo Controversy is Bogus

This is a painful moment. I need to defend Ted Cruz and his campaign. I didn’t think it would ever get to this point. But it has. So here goes.

This ‘controversy’ has been brewing all day. And I just heard Wolf Blitzer on CNN asking darkly whether Ted Cruz would have to fire someone over putting out a ‘doctored’, ‘fake’ image purporting to show President Obama shaking hands with Marco Rubio.

I’m sorry. This is the stupidest controversy in this campaign so far. And that’s saying a lot.

This is OBVIOUSLY not a real photo. No one would think this was an actual photo. So it can’t be a ‘fake’ or a ‘lie’ because it’s obviously not real. When JibJab does one of its animations of two politicians or pictures of them jumping around we don’t think, hey wait, they didn’t really jump around like that. Fake!

Again, this is incredibly stupid.
