Cantor Bails On Income Inequality Speech

House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) has abruptly cancelled a speech at the Wharton School this afternoon on income inequality, claiming that the University of Pennsylvania reneged on its agreement as to who could attend the speech.

With Occupy Philly protestors targeting the event, Cantor was apparently worried protestors would be allowed into the lecture hall.

The university tells TPM it doesn’t have any information on why Cantor cancelled. We’re trying to nail down whether it failed to live up to its side of the agreement, as Cantor claims.
