George Zimmerman has mainly been out of the news of late. And it’s true that evidence of unrelated bad acts in most circumstances aren’t allowed as testimony when you’re on trial for someone else. But you can’t close people’s ears to the abundant news coverage that now shows in painfully — sometimes comically — that Zimmerman and his wife repeatedly lied through their teeth to the judge in his case. (This is their lying about how much money they had access to during his bail hearing.) Zimmerman’s entire defense will have to rest on his own testimony about events no one else alive witnessed. So his credibility is central to his defense.
I’d be curious to hear from litigators how much or whether they think this will be relevant to the jury’s deliberations.

I’m less surprised about the substance (he’s got a lot of vulnerabilities) than the fact that they let it get out there and then confirmed that they’re not looking at him.
But now it’s buzzing around on Twitter that a ‘Romney advisor’ said that women aren’t being considered because after Sarah Palin it’s too dangerous to choose a woman. But this is just a bad rap. That’s not really what anyone said. Read More
Their unprecedented and indeed bizarre demands having not been met, Scott Brown’s campaign says the candidate won’t participate in a debate against Elizabeth Warren, sponsored by the Kennedy Institute.
I’m not sure how the Romney camp let this happen. But they’ve now apparently confirmed the leak that Marco Rubio is not being considered for Romney’s veep. It doesn’t terribly surprise me that the Romney camp doesn’t think Rubio’s a good bet. But how you let that become public is a totally different story.
Portman and Pawlenty are apparently getting a close look.
