Let me note that I write as an assimilated Jew of French extraction. I have always had sympathy for Israel, seeing it, at the very least as a final refuge should circumstances bring anti-semitism back to the forefront in the West.

Josh, I was really taken with your pair of tweets this morning about how, as David Ben-Gurion said Jews should “Fight the White Paper as if there was no War, and fight the War as if there was no White Paper,” so should we fight Israel-haters as if there was no Israeli Right with zero interest in peace, and fight the anti-peace Right as if there were no Israel-haters.
Remember back in May when there was a minor uproar when eighth graders were given a ‘critical thinking skills’ test in which they were asked to decide and explain why the Holocaust was or was not a hoax. They were given two anodyne descriptions from the Internet and then a third from a notorious Holocaust denial site.
Well, it turns out it was a bit worse than first reported.
