Despite rumors that the Colorado state GOP was preparing for the possibility of Scott McInnis dropping out of the race following a plagiarism scandal, the gubernatorial candidate wrote on his Facebook page today that he is “in it to win it” and will stay in the race.
FOX31 reports that former Colorado Rep. Tom Tancredo (R) was the first Republican to call for him to step down. The Republican Governor’s Association has also reportedly withdrawn its funding from McInnis, and has canceled several fundraisers in the wake of the plagiarism allegations.
McInnis, however, does not seem fazed, and posted a note today that said:
I am in it to win it. We will continue to fight for Colorado’s businesses and families and will not leave this race. Stay strong!
