From The Reporter’s Notebook
On Sunday, high-powered lawyer Gloria Allred held a press conference with Russo, a licensed social worker who Allred said met Zervos years before the incident at the center of Zervos’ accusations, TPM’s Esme Cribb reported. Russo said that she previously remained silent out of respect for Zervos’ privacy, but was “in tears” watching the Friday news conference in which Zervos made the accusations. “Immediately she was trashed. Immediately,” Russo said, explaining that she reached out to Allred as a result of the backlash against Zervos. “What Summer is saying is true.”
Agree or Disagree?
Josh Marshall: “Trump TV has always been a sort of Trump’s Razor test case or ultimate example. Could it really be so ridiculous as the whole campaign was just a vehicle to launch a low-information TV news and propaganda channel? Everything is ultimately a grift for Trump. So it’s totally plausible. Trump’s Razor suggests that Trump TV is not only possible but probable. Indeed, the news out today suggests that Trump’s mini-me and campaign general Jared Kusher (Ivanka’s husband) has been talking to possible financial backers. But here’s why it’s probably a dubious proposition.”
Say What?!
“I hope we can start a coup. She should be in prison or shot.”
– A Donald Trump supporter told reporters at a campaign rally last week that Hillary Clinton “needs to be taken out.”
BUZZING: Today in the Hive
From a TPM Prime member: “As far as I am concerned, there is no purpose to having the candidates on stage together again except to have Trump answer a single question. Once this question is answered, it won’t matter anymore what he or Hillary says for the rest of the night. That question is: Mr Trump, all polls and prediction are showing that you have a large deficit to overcome to win the election. If you lose, will you accept the results of the election and urge those who support you to come together to support a peaceful transition of power from the current President of the United States to whoever gathers the most electoral votes on November 8? Once that question is answered by Trump, everything else doesn’t really matter.”
Related: Rep. Peter King (R-NY) emerged as a rare voice of reason on Monday when he said that “no,” the election wasn’t going to be fixed in Democrats’ favor.
