The College Board on Thursday released a revised version of the AP U.S. History course standards, saying it accepted public feedback and made changes that will make the standards “less open to misinterpretation or perceptions of imbalance.” This marks a significant step for the College Board in responding to its critics, says TPM's Caitlin MacNeal. Initially, the College Board tried to placate critics with revised instructions for the standards, stressing to teachers that they can focus in depth on any issues even if the standards do not go into great detail.

From TPM live chat guest and economist Dean Baker: "Actually, I worry about the $15 an hour minimum wage. High wage cities life San Francisco and Seattle may be able to support a $15 wage. I don't think this is true for much of the rest of the country. I did write that piece on productivity and the minimum wage to give a point of reference, but absent a lot of other changes in the economy, I would worry that a $15 minimum wage nationwide would lead to a substantial amount of unemployment."
