From The Reporter’s Notebook

TPM’s Allegra Kirkland reported on the Republican National Convention host committee chairs’ links to a corporation that Donald Trump has criticized for offshoring hundreds of jobs. Agree or Disagree?

Josh Marshall: “Which brings us back to Republicans who keep oscillating between Stockholm Syndrome and Bravehart braggadocio in their shotgun marriage to Donald Trump. Yes, I get that Republican officials are genuinely shocked and in many cases outraged by Trump’s overt racism and indifference to the independence of the judiciary. But c’mon, unless they took a nap for the last year none of this is really a surprise. There is a simple fact here that is undeniable. Republicans united around Trump when his polls were climbing and it started to seem that he wasn’t a certain loser in November. Whether anybody should be giving May polls that much significance is besides the point; they do.”

Say What?!

BUZZING: Today in the Hive

From a TPM Prime member: “I’ve also mentioned this before, but it bears repeating. Hillary beat Bernie, in part, because of her organizing, and campaign’s strength, that allowed her to optimize her turn out and reach, even in more demographically hostile locations like Iowa and South Dakota. For all of Bernie’s focus on big rallies and TV spending, he also did organizing and voter registration work. Donald Trump, only has rallies and TV Interviews. He has no campaign infrastructure to speak of, and what little campaign staff he has, he fights with and ignores. This will make a big difference at the margins, and will help Democrats win more House and Senate Seats at the state and national levels, than they would otherwise. “
