BUZZING: Today in the Hive
From a TPM Prime member: “Forget what you once understood about how democracy works in the US. It no longer works that way. Now the billionaires decide who we get to vote for, evil and less evil, before the first vote is cast. Either are acceptable to the oligarchy. Former President Carter has said we no longer have a functioning democracy. Then there’s that Princeton study showing that it really doesn’t matter what the vast majority of voters want. The oligarchs will always get their way. Why is that not the most talked about issue in this election cycle? Then comes Sanders and Trump. Let’s not talk about Trump since he’s one of the billionaires. Now then, there’s Sanders. Against all probability he’s running outside of the billionaire club. It’s going to take millions of us common folks to make this happen. That’s why he’s calling it a political revolution. I’d like to see a restoration of democracy in the US before I die. What ever it takes, I’m all in.”
