What Health Policy Experts Think Of A Key GOPer’s Vision For O’Care Transition

The Gist: Sen. Lamar Alexander’s (R-TN) vision, which he outlined in a speech on the Senate floor Tuesday, is earning measured praise from some health care policy experts for at least acknowledging that Republicans may have to keep some aspects of Obamacare alive while they work on an alternative to avoid causing major chaos to the individual market.

Donald Trump Is Still Tweeting Angrily About Reports On Dossier

From The Reporter’s Notebook

C-SPAN confirmed that its online feed had been temporarily interrupted by the Kremlin-backed news outfit RT, formerly known as Russia Today, TPM’s Matt Shuham reported. “This afternoon the online feed for C-SPAN was briefly interrupted by RT programming,” the network said in a statement. “We are currently investigating and troubleshooting this occurrence. As RT is one of the networks we regularly monitor, we are operating under the assumption that it was an internal routing issue. If that changes we will certainly let you know.”

Agree or Disagree?

Josh Marshall: “We are in a totally unprecedented situation with the range of questions being asked about the incoming president and what can only be called odd behavior of the intelligence community. This is the case even if no one has done anything wrong. No fight between a president and the intelligence community, let alone with an incoming president, has ever cut so deep or been so public.”

Say What?!

“Thank you to Linda Bean of L.L.Bean for your great support and courage. People will support you even more now. Buy L.L.Bean. @LBPerfectMaine”

– Donald Trump tweeted out support for Linda Bean, the granddaughter of the founder of the iconic outdoor retail company L.L. Bean, after the Associated Press reported that she’d donated more to a political action committee that supported Trump than Federal Election Commission rules allow.

BUZZING: Today in the Hive

From a TPM Prime member: “There’s news and then there’s ‘news entertainment’. The Trump team members, like Kellyanne Conway (KAC), are veterans of news entertainment — where you ‘win’ by being the loudest person at the table, talking over your opponents, having the most words come out of your mouth, diverting and distracting…. If news shows don’t want people to behave like that, they need to stop inviting those people to participate on the show, or giving them only a limited opportunity to speak followed by commentary and analysis by people who are willing to actually address the facts and issues, with their being excluded from that subsequent discussion. If you check the headlines on news aggregators, when you confront somebody like KAC the confrontation becomes the story, not whether or not the person challenging the talking points was correct.”
