Sen. Ron Wyden (D-OR) told TPM’s Lauren Fox that he is very familiar with the frustrations that have long been felt by rural Oregonians, but that those irritations should not prompt people to “walk off a cliff.” Wyden—who has been on a tour of rural Oregon this week—said that his message to constituents since a group of armed militiamen took over a wildlife refuge has been that the men are “outsiders who are coming to advance their own agenda.”

BUZZING: Today in the Hive

From a TPM Prime member: “Further, she’s not legally correct and trafficking in the same nonsense as Obama “birthers.” Cruz could have been born in Kenya, on the Moon or in Atlantis and all that matters is that one of his parents is a “naturally born” American citizen, which is completely different than the ill-considered nonsense in the 13th Amendment that grants citizenship to the children born in the U.S. of alien parents.”

Related: Ann Coulter suggested Ted Cruz isn’t a natural-born citizen.
