In a surprising turn of events, conservative pundit Glenn Beck is coming to Facebook’s defense following a meeting with those at the social network and conservative leaders, TPM Kristin Salaky wrote. In a blog post published Thursday, Beck compared the meeting to the “Salem Witch Trial,” saying he disagreed with his “side” and saying their solutions were like affirmative action.
Agree or Disagree?
Josh Marshall: “Trump himself has now moved on from immigration politics to dredging up allegations about Bill Clinton that range from unsubstantiated to discredited to ridiculous. But here’s the thing: Trump’s former wife Ivana said Trump raped her in a sworn deposition. Given how central a role rape accusations have played in Trump’s campaign – against Mexicans, political opponents, etc. it is clearly a highly germane question, as frankly it would be for any presidential candidate.”

From a TPM Prime member: “I think [Bernie] is devolving into something that he isn’t going to ultimately be very proud of. But I honestly think it is a big mistake to attribute ill motives to everyone who supported Bernie Sanders. There are those on the far dead ender side, and those who have grappled with the reality of the primary decision, and there are all sort of folks in between. Blame Bernie for what he is becoming. He was not like this at the beginning. He had some issues that he wanted to bring to the fore, and he did that. Then it started to look like he was giving HRC a run for her money, and bringing in lots of campaign cash, and bringing in big crowds, and he started to change. There is nothing so alluring as the success of negative campaigning. Just as Fox has contributed to the monster that is Donald Trump, so has Bernie created some of the monsters that showed such violence in Nevada. Dancing with the Devil, I guess. But please – there are folks that preferred Sanders that are reliable, sensible Democrats like you and me. Please don’t paint with too broad a brush.”
