During a fundraiser to help New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) retire his campaign debt on Thursday night, Donald Trump told the governor that he was banned from eating Oreos.
While discussing trade, Trump referenced Oreos, which Trump swore off in August when Oreo’s parent company added production plants in Mexico and downsized operations in Chicago.
“I’m not eating Oreos anymore, you know that — but neither is Chris,” Trump said at the event in New Jersey on Thursday. “You’re not eating Oreos anymore. No more Oreos. For either of us, Chris. Don’t feel bad.”
Earlier in the event, Trump claimed that Christie “paid off his entire campaign debt” that night before joking about attendees not having a place to sit.
“And Chris, you can’t even give him a table and a seat? That’s terrible,” Trump said, according to the Associated Press.
