Fox Television Studios said Friday that it will not produce the planned miniseries about Hillary Clinton that’s sparked a public protest by the Republican National Committee, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

An unnamed executive for Fox confirmed the report to The New York Times, indicating that the decision was driven by finances and not politics.

The RNC unanimously passed a resolution Friday that will bar NBC from hosting any of the party’s 2016 presidential debates due to the network’s plans to run a miniseries with Oscar nominee Diane Lane in the role of the former first lady. The resolution will also end the RNC’s 2016 debate partnership with CNN, which plans to air a documentary about Clinton.

There were indications last week that Fox was in the “early stages” of talks with NBC to produce the miniseries.
