In an interview Monday with the Wall Street Journal, William Daley, who served as President Obama’s chief of staff at the time of the raid that killed Osama bin Laden, said that Romney’s comments during the 2008 race — that it was not worth moving “heaven and earth” to get bin Laden — made the issue “fair game” in 2012. Daley also offered this advice to Romney:

“The more Romney talks about it, the worse Romney will look, because of what he said five years ago.” He added, “If I were Romney, I’d shut up about it.”
