Rick Santorum may have a sparkly new ad to ding Romney with in Michigan, but it seems Romney’s allies will make sure it gets drowned out.
According to the Washington Post, the avalanche of funding about to be launched against the former Pennsylvania Senator seems overwhelming:
Former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney and his allies at the super PAC Restore Our Future are spending $1,240,230 in Michigan this week. The former Pennsylvania senator is spending $42,443 — not a typo — and none of his super PAC supporters have spent anything. That means there will be 29 times more Romney ads than Santorum ads on the air in the Wolverine state.
The Post notes that Newt Gingrich’s main backer, Sheldon Adelson, is also reported to be thinking about laying down up to $10 million in anti-Santorum funding.
