Independent candidate Greg Orman has a ten point lead over incumbent Sen. Pat Roberts (R) with likely and registered voters in the Kansas Senate race, according to an NBC/Marist poll released Sunday.

Among likely voters, 48 percent said they would support Orman while only 38 percent said they would support Roberts. Among registered voters, 46 percent said they would support Orman and just 36 percent said they would vote for Roberts.

The new NBC poll follows a Wednesday Suffolk University poll that found Orman with a five point lead over Roberts among likely voters.

Now that Democrat Chad Taylor dropped out of the race, polls have shown Orman with a significant lead over Roberts.

According to TPM’s Polltracker average, Orman has a one point lead over Roberts.

NBC surveyed 1,097 registered voters and 636 like voters Sept. 27-Oct. 1 with an overall margin of error plus or minus 3.9 percentage points.

  1. Roberts brought in national campaign people. The national people live in the DC bubble. They don’t know squat about Kansas. Neither does Roberts who famously slipped he only comes to Kansas when he has an opponent. Brownback has pissed off lots and lots of moderate Republicans. Orman gives them somebody to support. His message is perfect for Kansas right now.

  2. Orman looks like a Mark Ruffalo doppelganger.

  3. “…polls have shown Orman with a significant lead…”

How about this for a liberal response to the conservative voter suppression efforts? We make a law requiring everyone in Kansas to vote now… lol

  4. This one has the same markings of the GOP’s failed experiments with Elizabeth Warren in DC and MA. Self-inflicted wounds, out of touch response and a circus of a show.

  5. I firmly believe this is the biggest long-term story in politics right now. If Brownback, Roberts, and Kobach all go down this year, even though that really is a product of politics very peculiar to Kansas, it will rock the conservatives back on their heels. It will hasten their sidelining the Tea Party.
