A poll released on Friday by the Boston Globe showed continued volatility in the Massachusetts race for governor.

The weekly poll conducted by SocialSphere showed a tied race between Democrat Martha Coakley and Republican Charlie Baker, with each candidate garnering support from 41 percent of likely voters.

It was a swing from last week’s poll which showed Coakley with a 5-point lead, which in turn was a shift from the Boston Globe poll conducted a week prior which showed Baker with a 3-point lead.

The latest poll was the first time Boston Globe has asked voters which candidate they were leaning towards. Without leaners, Baker had a 2-point lead, 39 to 37 percent.

The poll was conducted Oct. 12 through Oct. 14 and surveyed 400 likely voters. The margin of error was 4.9%.

The TPM PollTracker average on Friday showed Baker ahead by 0.7 percent.
