Trump’s approach to Twitter has been as unorthodox as his presidential campaign. The billionaire’s use of the social media service has been unpredictable and unfiltered, sometimes brilliant and occasionally typographically challenged. Hours before his State of the Union address where he called for unity, President Donald Trump laid into prominent Democrats at a lunch with television anchors, calling Sen. Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) a “son of a bitch” and former Vice President Joe Biden “dumb.”

According to a Tuesday New York Times report, Trump talked at length about the possible Democratic candidates for 2020, reflecting on who he wants to run against.

“I hope it’s Biden,” Trump said. “Biden was never very smart. He was a terrible student. His gaffes are unbelievable. When I say something that you might think is a gaffe, it’s on purpose; it’s not a gaffe. When Biden says something dumb, it’s because he’s dumb.”

He added that he’d also like to run against Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and that Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) had the best rollout so far.

On Democratic leadership, he said that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is at least nice to him in private, but that Schumer “can be a nasty son of a bitch.”

Schumer reacted to the insult Wednesday morning: “So much for inclusiveness, so much for working together,” he said to CNN’s John Berman.
