House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said Tuesday night that she’s more confident in Democrats’ midterm prospects than she ever has been.
“Up until today, I would’ve said, ‘If the election were held today, we would win,'” she said to CBS’ Stephen Colbert. “What now I’m saying is, ‘We will win.'”
Colbert immediately balked.
“Please don’t say that,” he said. “Do you want to say that on Hillary’s fireworks barge that she cancelled?”
“We’re just walking precincts and if everyone votes, we’ll have even a bigger victory,” Pelosi retorted. “But Democrats will carry the House. If we have a bigger victory, the Senate, governorships, it’s going to be a great night for America.”
Watch here:
23 chickens
It’s a delicate balance. Sounding positive enough to excite the voters without making them complacent.
I guess I’m just dumb, but I don’t get the eggs thingee.
Counting your chickens before they’re hatched.
Of course, @steviedee111 being @steviedee111, there’s a bit more than that there.
Thank you. Double yolks, no doubt.
