WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama is telling Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that the United States is growing more concerned about the rising number of civilian deaths in the Gaza war that is entering its third week.

The White House says Obama and Netanyahu spoke Sunday about the ongoing violence in the region and the worsening humanitarian situation in Gaza. Obama also reiterated that Israel has a right to defend itself and condemned Hamas’ rocket attacks.

Obama says a lasting peace will ultimately require a demilitarized Gaza and dismantling of terror groups. The U.S. president is also pushing for an immediate, unconditional cease-fire that would allow Israeli and Palestinian civilians to return to normalcy.

  1. Someone start a News Max troll poll, ask which soap should be used to wash off blood from one’s hands?

    Sharon would be proud.

Note that Zionists actually began (according to the PBS series about the Jews) as a mystical cult, with emphasis on inner peace (Knowledge of GOD) as an experience. So also, the Muslims, but somehow they decided centuries ago, to follow (post facto) either a cult with black hats, or white ones and skipped their teachers actual lesson.

That whole ‘peace’ thing went south as soon as rhetorical inferences abetted getting a homeland, or conquering others.

Not that the two goals (inner peace) and a nation were bad things but unless a human being experiences their own, singular (divine) nature, pretty much everything else (temporal) noble, or not, is subject to and will always be in flux with no long term positive (permanence?) results.

Hindus & Muslims, Jews & Arabs, Christians & Christians and the violence or marginalization by, onto or of other human beings by adherents who miss the point taught (imparted by) said (dead and gone) teacher is where we are today, just about everywhere.

Is there a solution, sure, but don’t count on Kerry, or Netanyahu soliciting that person’s counsel.

But hey, stranger things have happened.

  2. We’ve been merely “expressing concern” over Israel’s actions for far too long.

  3. Netanyahu’s response?
“Shut up and send the check!”

Oh NO. Now Obama is guilty of being antisimetic.
