Mark Harris, the Republican congressional candidate in North Carolina currently caught up in an investigation of alleged ballot fraud, isn’t keen to speak to the media. So much so, we saw Monday night, that he’s willing to set off a fire alarm to avoid it.
Harris took an unusual route out of the Charlotte Mecklenburg Government Center on Monday after speaking to the Mecklenburg County Republicans, eventually setting off the building’s fire alarm in a sprint away from curious reporters.
WSOC caught part of Harris’ journey on camera:
To avoid the media, Mark Harris ran down a fire exit staircase. A man tried to prevent us from following but we still did. The alarm went off as he ran out. When media caught up he sprinted across the street to the First Baptist Church of Charlotte's parking lot #NC09 @wsoctv pic.twitter.com/vDFca16EYx

Later, Harris tweeted that he was in a rush to get home to watch football.
Hey man,
Sorry I missed you guys tonight. I had to get to the kickoff of the #NationalChampionship game. We’ll have plenty to talk about in the days ahead.#GoTigers https://t.co/ahd48d1g6I

Ummm…isn’t that illegal?
Police used to give kids a good talking to in my jr. high school when one of the students pulled that shit. Pretty sure that’s considered creating an unlawful form of panic.
“Rushing to get home to watch football”, eh?
Just looked it up. Its a Class 2 misdemeanor in N.C. In some states its considered a felony however.
