For the first time in his reign as the ruthless dictator of North Korean, Kim Jong-un answered a question from a member of the foreign press, The Washington Post reported.

Washington Post reporter David Nakamura asked Kim if he was “confident, feeling good about a deal” just before Kim and President Trump entered their closed-door negotiations. Kim turned to his interpreter and responded to the question, according to the Post.

“It’s too early to tell. I won’t prejudge,” Kim said. “From what I feel right now, I do have a feeling that good results will come.”

Kim tossing a bone to the U.S. press comes after the dictator got the media booted from the hotel he was staying in during the denuclearization summit with Trump in Vietnam. The White House apparently booked the same hotel as Kim to serve as a filing center for American reporters.

When summit coordinators heard about the mix-up, the press was moved to a different location, but not before some members of the media saw Kim arriving at the hotel. North Korean officials ordered Vietnamese security to tell reporters they couldn’t look at Kim or take pictures of him.
