Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) dismissed President Donald Trump’s attempted obstruction of justice laid bare in the redacted Mueller report, urging the President to “fight like hell” against House Democrats’ attempts to subpoena his information.

“I don’t care,” Graham said of Trump’s obstruction attempts during a CNN interview. “There were zero instances of Trump impeding Mueller. Zero.”

In fact, Mueller concluded that Trump attempted to impede his investigation many times, but that the President was stymied by his aides. The special counsel did not come to a conclusion on the obstruction question due to his belief that a sitting President cannot be indicted.

Graham urged Trump to “fight like hell” against the Democrats — or “political hacks,” in Graham’s estimation — and their attempts to investigate the damaging episodes detailed in Mueller’s report.

Graham is up for reelection in 2020, and is making clear that he feels his surest route to victory is by being Trump’s most ardent supporter.
