Former New Jersey governor and Trump friend Chris Christie said Tuesday that the President hasn’t given House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) a nickname “because he’s afraid what’s going to come back.”

Promoting his new book at an event at multi-billionaire investor Steve Cohen’s house, Christie said of Trump, as quoted by Axios: “If he respects you, you don’t get a nickname, because he’s afraid what’s going to come back.”

“So Cryin’ Chuck Schumer gets a nickname, because [Trump] has no respect for Schumer,” Christie said. “But Nancy Pelosi’s got no nickname. It’s just Nancy. And if she doesn’t have a nickname by now, she ain’t getting any.”

Trump often refers to the Democratic leaders as “Chuck and Nancy,” but the House speaker has never received her own moniker.

Christie sees this as a personal honor, as well. During a recent appearance at the Reagan Library, per RedState, he bragged: “You’ll notice that I never got a nickname. Right? Now, Low Energy Jeb!, Little Marco, Lyin’ Ted, Crazy John. Right? They all got nicknames. I never got a nickname, and I know why. He doesn’t give nicknames to people who he thinks will come back at him and who he thinks will be a problem.”
