House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-OH) said in a newspaper interview Monday that the Democrats are “snuffing out the America that I grew up in,” which explains why “there’s a political rebellion brewing, and I don’t think we’ve seen anything like it since 1776.”
According to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, Boehner gave one heck of an interview yesterday, saying that “the American people have written off the Democrats” and are “willing to look at us again.”
Boehner also said the financial reform bill was like “killing an ant with a nuclear weapon,” and attacked Obama for his response to the Gulf oil spill. According the the Tribune-Review, Boehner “said Obama overreacted to the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. The spill might warrant a ‘pause’ in deepwater drilling, but Obama’s blanket ban on drilling in the gulf — which a judge overturned last week — could devastate the region’s economy.”
