Fox Business Network’s “Varney & Co.,” hosted by Stuart Varney, advertised on Twitter Monday night that it would be broadcasting “LIVE from the White House this Wednesday,” adding: “Who knows who might show up for an interview?”
Turns out, a lot of people: Varney interviewed eight Cabinet members and other senior White House officials, in addition to the President himself, between 9 a.m. and noon.
Every guest on Varney’s show — officials and others who accompanied them, including a coal miner who appeared with Kellyanne Conway and a manufacturer who appeared with Linda McMahon — was also listed as attending an Oval Office event on deregulation Wednesday, “Cutting the Red Tape, Unleashing Economic Freedom.” Trump also held a Cabinet meeting Wednesday.
Bill Shine, the White House deputy chief of staff for communications, is the former co-president of Fox News.
