CNN President Jeff Zucker said Thursday that the network will not pay Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump to appear at the next GOP debate, Variety reported.

Trump had considered threatening to not appear at CNN’s scheduled debate unless the network gave him $5 million. Trump said that the money would have gone to charity.

But Zucker gave a hard “no,” when a reporter asked him if the network would fork over the money.

“We do not pay candidates to appear,” Zucker was quoted as saying.

CNN’s debate is scheduled for Dec. 15 in Las Vegas.
