The Wall Street Journal slammed Donald Trump in an editorial published Sunday, saying that if he does not get his act together by Labor Day, the Republican Party should move on.

The piece, titled “Trump’s Self-Reckoning,” is a scathing take-down of what the editorial board describes as an incompetent candidate with a floundering campaign. The board knocked Trump’s limited knowledge on important issues, which mainly comes from online sources, and his dismal showings in the polls during a year Republicans “should win” easily.

“Mr. Trump has alienated his party and he isn’t running a competent campaign,” the editorial reads. “Mrs. Clinton is the second most unpopular presidential nominee in history—after Mr. Trump. But rather than reassure voters and try to repair his image, the New Yorker has spent the last three weeks giving his critics more ammunition.”

The editorial board issued a sort of ultimatum, giving Trump a few more weeks to shape up, and suggested a course of action if he doesn’t.

“If they can’t get Mr. Trump to change his act by Labor Day, the GOP will have no choice but to write off the nominee as hopeless and focus on salvaging the Senate and House and other down-ballot races,” the editorial board wrote. “As for Mr. Trump, he needs to stop blaming everyone else and decide if he wants to behave like someone who wants to be President—or turn the nomination over to Mike Pence.”

It’s already obvious to sane people that Trump will be Trump and there’s nothing else. What is the WSJ waiting for, fairy dust?
