Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) on Tuesday challenged New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) to show which scientists advised him to impose mandatory quarantines for health workers returning to the U.S. from treating Ebola patients.
“He should bring out his scientists who are advising him on that because we know that we want to be led by the science,” she said in an interview with “CBS This Morning.” “That’s what’s going to keep people safe. Science, not politics. I think that’s what’s critical.”
Christie and New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) put the mandatory quarantines in place on Friday, and this week clarified that health workers could be stay in their home, rather than at a hospital, following heavy criticism. Despite the many critics, Christie has fervently defended his policy.
Warren also criticized Congress for failing to properly fund Ebola research.
“Ebola is not new. We’ve known about it for a long time, and we were putting money into funding Ebola many years ago and the Republicans have cut funding overall for medical research, for the National Institutes of Health, and Ebola has not been a priority,” she said. “We can’t just run this country from one crisis to another.”

And think, she was a Republican a mere 20 years ago. Hard to imagine, eh?
I’d really like to know the decision process Christie and Cuomo used. Who was involved? Who advised them?
I really hope Warren goes further politically. She is one of the few pols living in the same world as I.
I really love that woman.
Hit him again, Liz–harder!
