VA GOPer: Idea That Muslims Contributed To America Is ‘Nonsense’

The treasurer of the Virginia Republican Party on Tuesday made some intolerant comments about Muslims in a Facebook post.

Bob FitzSimmonds called President Obama’s statement at the end of Ramadan thanking Muslims for their contributions “nonsense,” and then scoffed at other religions.

Here’s the post, which was discovered by BlueVirginia:

In February, FitzSimmonds came under fire for referring to a female Republican congressional candidate as a “sexist twat” in a Facebook post.

He apologized for the post and said that he did not mean to use the slang term for genitalia, but intended to use the word “twaddle,” which means “foolish speech.”
