That state-run Turkish press Anadolu Agency has released video footage of the shoot-down Tuesday of a Russian warplane along the Turkish-Syrian border.
The fiery footage also appears to show the aircraft’s pilots parachuting from the plane. Their condition is still unknown; however, Reuters is reporting it received video footage from a Syrian rebel group purportedly showing one of the pilots badly injured and possibly dead.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has said Turkey will pay for downing the aircraft. Turkey says the plane was repeatedly warned that it was in Turkish airspace.
“The loss today is a stab in the back, carried out by the accomplices of terrorists. I can’t describe it in any other way,” Putins said in a statement.
